Our programmes have been developed to educate children of all ages, from preschool to college students. The services we offer vary from school assemblies and interactive sessions to holiday programmes and birthday parties.
Our aim is to educate children of all ages using the latest research from around the world. With the goal being to educate families on how to interact with dogs which will help reduce dog bites.
This session is for children in daycares and kindergartens. The session takes 30-40 minutes and is a starting point for young children to begin learning how to stay safe around dogs by learning the 3 Golden Rules.
A member off the Canine Crew will be there to allow the children to practice the skills they have learnt with a real dog.
With Primary schools we firstly hold a 30-40 minute Dog Safety Assembly to teach the children the 3 Golden Rules and get them thinking about different scenarios involving dogs.
After the assembly there is the opportunity for members of our Canine Crew to come in for an interactive programme with the students. This session last 45 mins and recaps on the 3 Golden Rules as well as going in to more detail about scenarios with dogs.
Intermediate students first attend a 30-40 minute Dog Safety Assembly to teach them the 3 Golden Rules and some basic Canine Body Language so they can begin to better understand the dogs they interact with.
After the assembly there is the opportunity for members of our Canine Crew to come in for an interactive programme with the students. This session last 45 mins and recaps on the 3 Golden Rules and scenarios as well as teaching them about the 5 Freedoms.
We have designed a 45 minute Dog Safety Assembly for college students that teaches them the 3 Golden Rules and goes through several scenarios that get them to think about the dog's welfare as well as their own safety.
The assembly begins to teach students some Canine Body Language so they have the ability to read a dog's body language to keep themselves safe. It also busts some myths about dogs in regards to a happy waggy tail and other common misconceptions.
We have had great success with our Canine Crews going into Holiday Programmes for 2 hours to teach the children about dogs and how to stay safe around them. The children are taught the 3 Golden Rules as well as several scenarios and receive fun activities to do around dogs such as word searches, crosswords, hidden images and colouring in.
The children get extra time to interact with the dogs and the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the Canine Crew as well as share their stories about dogs.
This a new edition to our programmes. A member of our Canine Crew will attend a child's birthday party for an hour to teach them the 3 Golden Rules and scenarios on how to stay safe with dogs. There are lots of games played where the children can test their new skills and knowledge as well as have a fun time being able to interact with the dog while sharing their stories of dogs.
There is off course a little birthday gift for the Birthday Boy/Girl!
