I am an Occupational Health and Safety Professional with a background in nursing and have gained experience in a variety of industries. A new arrival in New Zealand, I am enjoying the outdoor lifestyle and the beauty of the country.
In my professional life reviewing risks and risk reduction is a core principle. The education that the Kids Safe with Dogs charity offers is a significant benefit to the children and dogs of New Zealand that I am happy to support.
I was born in the UK and emigrated to New Zealand 1972. I served for 46 years as a professional firefighter. I am now retired and living on 10 acres with my dogs, cats, chickens and steers.
I was honoured to be asked to be on the board of trustees for such an important issue and I an looking forward to working with Kids Safe With Dogs.
I am a registered teacher with many years experience working in primary education.
As a New Zealander I support initiatives that allow our children to develop their self confidence and identity within a safe environment. Through education, Kids Safe With Dogs charity will give children the knowledge and skills to maintain their personal safety and enjoyment with dogs.

A Kiwi born and bred, I have spent most of my working life in public service, starting with the Royal New Zealand Navy and finishing with 20 years with the Immigration and Protection Tribunal (formerly the Refugee Status Appeals Authority).
Now retired, I am living peacefully in Hawera with my husband, my dog, Cassie, and our cat, Charlie. We are involved in many community projects and are truly enjoying our new lives. I am delighted to be a trustee of Kids Safe With Dogs.
